The Secret to Anti-Aging
Don't Fight Aging! Embrace Youth!
Age is just as much in the mind as it is in the body.
We have an internal program running that tells us how we should look and feel in a particular age group. When people start getting into their 40’s and 50’s you begin hearing phrases like “Oh I’m too old for that” or “I’m no longer a spring chicken”.
We begin to accept the deterioration of our health as a symptom of aging. Yet in reality it is not the years that have past that are the result of what we look like and how we feel. It is rather what we have done with those years. Years of abuse of our bodies and accumulated toxic waste begins to wear on us after a time.
Our bodies are finely tuned instruments and if we let them go they will lose their tuning.
As a teenager and even in our 20’and 30’s we can often get away with a diet of pizza, beer and ice cream. The effects of this diet don’t show up instantly. They show up later, many years later. As the clock ticks and the years go by all that wrong eating and poor lifestyle begin to take affect in the way we look and feel.
Who we are today is not a result of what we are doing today. It is a result of what we did yesterday. If you truly want to reverse the aging process you need to understand that who you are tomorrow is the result of what you do today. You can take ten years off your age often simply by cleansing for 30 days. The process of shedding those built up toxins can have a tremendous effect on our health and wellness.
Once you have gone on a cleanse you will have to treat your body as a new instrument and watch carefully what you put in it. You have learned that the processed diet of the past has resulted in a sluggish, unhealthy and overweight body. Therefore to embrace health you must embrace a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Mindset is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. You have to think young and believe in your own ability to reverse the aging process.
I know a man that when showing me a home he is considering retiring in talked about how the stairs could be a problem as he gets older and even where he thought he might put the nurse who would care for him in his elderly years. This is the mindset of a man planning on getting old and feeble.
Many people, especially in some indigenous cultures live well beyond the age of one hundred and remain productive parts of their community until the time of their death. Isn’t this the vision we should be holding for ourselves. In our society it is customary we get old and go into an old age home or have a nurse or family member come in to care for us. This is what we have witnessed with our elderly and this is what has unconsciously become part of our programming.
The program we hold about accumulating years is crucial to how we embrace life as we get older. Do you tell yourself when you turn 50 that you are over the hill? Watch the words you tell yourself and others about your own aging. Why not just forget about the birthdays and instead focus on rejuvenation. You can get younger every year if you have the right diet, lifestyle and mindset, no matter how bad your health has been in the past.
If you are ready to begin embracing health today than write out a commitment to yourself and write down what you plan to do differently in your life beginning today. If you need help formulating a plan give me a call and let’s talk. They key is to make a plan for how you will embrace health and do everything within your power to keep your commitment. Aren’t you worth it?
